Essential Driver Training Lesson Two
Lesson 2 of EDT
Correct Positioning
This lesson is where practicing before the lesson is crucial, otherwise, you're going to struggle to position the vehicle correctly which will certainly delay your progress.
Firstly, understanding the lesson is important. You should have done enough practice with your ADI or sponsor. During this lesson, our instructor will make sure you can position the car correctly, driving on the straight, cornering, bends, changing lanes, entering slip roads, junctions and roundabouts as well as positioning correctly within traffic lanes.
As you can see, this is quite a step up from EDT 1 and it is impossible to successfully complete this lesson unless proper practice has been completed. We offer support or filler lessons for this lesson outside of the syllabus which covers the same content without being an EDT lesson.
At the end of this lesson, and with the correct practice, you should be able to position the car at junctions, roundabouts, approaching, and emerging from roundabouts. You should also know how to keep a safe distance from the other vehicles, show proper use of space.
Most driving school students and parents are under the illusion that 12 lessons is enough to pass the test, when in fact, 12 hours is only the start. It's the work and practice in between that makes all of the difference.
Next is EDT lesson 3: Changing Direction.
